Busy, Busy, Busy

“I’m in a rush.” “Let me make a quick stop.” “I’m going to grab a bite to eat.”  “We’re on the road.”

Sound familiar? These are probably phrases that we use on a daily basis. Everyone has somewhere to go, somewhere they need to be. We are constantly fighting the battle against time and stress. We can never figure out why there is so much to do and how the time just seems to fly on by. Even stay at home wives and moms constantly find themselves very busy. Why are we so busy?

The truth is that we will never stop being busy.

We spend so much time doing this and that during the day. Think about it. Is what you’re doing necessary? Who is benefitting from what you are doing?

I’ve heard many Christians say that they don’t spend enough time with the Lord. It’s true that many hours are spent during the day working; but how about setting aside a little quiet time with just you and the Lord? How about once or twice or even three times a week? It could be 15 mins., 30 mins. or even an hour.

It may be easier for stay at home wives and mothers to have that quiet time. Spending time with Jesus should take over spending hours surfing the internet, hours online shopping, window shopping or watching videos. There is so much to take in prayer in this late hour. We should be praying for our brothers and sisters around the world, our husbands and children that they should be filled with the Holy Ghost, or just talking to the Lord instead. We should not have time to waste in idleness.

If you can put aside time to spend with the Lord you will see the benefits of it in your life, in your husband’s life, and in your children’s lives. You’ll see a change in the atmosphere in your home and your reactions to different situations.

It is also important that families pray together. Prayer draws people closer together; it will draw your family closer together. Gather your family for some prayer time. Let the children pray out loud. The things they say may surprise you. In my family, my husband and I with our three children, pray togther every other Friday evening. On the other Friday evenings we play games or listen to a portion of a sermon preached by Brother Branham.

All in all prayer is a wonderful thing and it is our connection to the Lord. There is only one person who wants you to stay away from prayer and that is the devil. Don’t allow him to fill up your time with unimportant things. Spend your time doing something productive for the Lord and with the Lord. Stay close to the Him, be watchful and pray.

  1. I have to get up with my husband at 4:45 a.m. to drive to work since we share a car. Getting up that early is painful, but because he starts work so early, and I have to wait, it gives me 2 hours before my workday begins, to read and pray. As exhausting as it is, it sure is wonderful to have all that time to spend with God. It makes my work day go much better too! 🙂

    1. That sounds wonderful, milenniumbride!! We have to MAKE the time to spend with the Lord or else we’d never FIND the time. I’m sure that the time time you spend with the Lord has drawn you closer to Him! I hope this encourages other working wives as well. 🙂
